The Pleasant Plumber had already built strong local recognition through a popular radio campaign. The concept was simple and sticky: customers love the service so much, they start calling Pleasant Plumber for things that aren't even plumbing. It worked on radio. People remembered it.
But radio alone wasn't enough to grow from there. The brand needed to expand into broadcast and digital to reach a wider audience, and the personality that made the radio spots work needed to translate visually. The challenge was creating a TV commercial that captured the same comedic tone while adding a new visual layer that made the brand feel even more memorable, trustworthy, and top of mind for Winnipeg homeowners.
We built on the comedic premise that already worked on radio: customers so satisfied with Pleasant Plumber's service that they call them for everything, even things that have nothing to do with plumbing. The creative leaned into cheeky, on-the-nose humour designed to make viewers smile and remember the brand. Each spot followed a clear story structure: a homeowner has a plumbing issue, Pleasant Plumber arrives and fixes it fast, the customer is so impressed they call back for a completely mundane, non-plumbing problem, and the plumber appears as the hero once again before a voiceover reminds viewers to save the number for actual plumbing needs.
To give the spots a bold, scroll-stopping visual identity, we used a specific set of film techniques throughout production. Crash zooms on the plumber's arrival. Whip pans between scenes. Quick-cut montages during the fix. Wide-angle doorbell cam shots to open each scenario. The colour palette was bright and saturated, keeping the tone playful and energetic.

The finished commercial became the centrepiece of The Pleasant Plumber's refreshed advertising campaign, replacing older video content and giving the brand a modern, polished visual presence across every channel.
We've worked with production companies before, but Prolex was on another level. They took exactly what I had in my head, brought ideas I hadn't even thought of, and delivered something better than I imagined. Their attention to detail and creative instincts made the whole process easy. I'd recommend them to anyone. Barrett Ferguson, CEO and Founder The Pleasant Plumber"
