The Challenge

Sheepdog Brew Co wanted to stand out during a high-traffic moment — the NHL Playoffs — with an unforgettable ad that stayed true to their adventurous brand while appealing to a wider audience. The goal was to build retail awareness and increase sales at major stores like Sobeys, Safeway, Red River Co-op and more.The challenge? Delivering a fast-turn, high-impact ad with cinematic quality on a tight timeline.

The Strategy

We developed a bold 30-second broadcast spot inspired by classic 80s action films. The video was built around a fictional behind-the-scenes moment on an old-school movie set, featuring a Sheepdog-fuelled action star in full fighter pilot gear (a nod to both Top Gun and the Winnipeg Jets).The ad opened with an action scene, transitioned into a meta behind-the-scenes moment, and ended with a product-forward freeze frame and retail callout.Key elements included:• A dynamic set build in an airport hangar• VFX integration of a fighter jet in post-production• Casting real members of the Sheepdog community• Humorous, self-aware one-liners to match the nostalgic tone• Crisp editing, VHS-style overlays, and bold visual design.

The Result

The ad aired across Sportsnet+ during the 2025 NHL Playoffs, capturing local attention and becoming a standout moment for the brand.• Boosted retail visibility• Strengthened Sheepdog’s identity as a fun, fearless cold brew brand• Sparked strong viewer engagement thanks to its entertaining, high-energy concept.
